The third rune of the first aett of the Elder Futhark. ⁣It is kinetic energy; it is conflict, fight, and strife. It can represent a warning of blockages or danger. It is a double edged sword: both ward and curse. Thurisaz is both sides: the thorn that protects the rose, reminding us it takes two sides in order to fight. This rune is stated in the poems as associated with the Jötnar, but because they are hunted by Thor, it has become colloquially associated with he and Mjölnir as well. ⁣
