Those who study tarot will find it shares similar energy with “The Chariot” of the major arcana. It is interested in the choices you make to get where you’re going and the journey you’re on while you get there. It is the rune of travelers of all kinds.
The fourth rune of the first aett of the Elder Futhark. It is the breath of life itself, imbuing vitality; it is voice and breath and mouth. It is speech and song, thought and memory, reason and inspiration. All of these traits are associated with the god Odinn and this correlation is canonical with the Icelandic rune poem! Ansuz is also associated in passing with his ravens, Huginn and Muninn. Some say Ansuz looks like half a feather!
The third rune of the first aett of the Elder Futhark. It is kinetic energy; it is conflict, fight, and strife. It can represent a warning of blockages or danger. It is a double edged sword: both ward and curse. Thurisaz is both sides: the thorn that protects the rose, reminding us it takes two sides in order to fight. This rune is stated in the poems as associated with the Jötnar, but because they are hunted by Thor, it has become colloquially associated with he and Mjölnir as well.

It’s also associated with manifestation, vitality, stamina, action, assertion, and primal instincts. This rune is occasionally associated with the cosmic cow, Audumbla, though the rune poems don’t state the correlation.
